The Sound of the South is Heading to London!

We’re thrilled to announce that the Troy University “Sound of the South” Marching Band has been invited to perform in the 2027 London New Year’s Day Parade, an iconic and internationally celebrated parade! 

On January 1, 2027, over 150 “Sound of the South” Marching Band students will represent Troy University and the U.S. in front of a global audience, joining over 8,000 performers from around the world. This incredible honor shines a spotlight on the hard work, dedication, and spirit of our students, and you can help make it happen. 

While in London, our students won’t just be marching through historic streets. They will explore some of the region's most iconic landmarks, including: 

  • The Tower of London & Crown Jewels 
  • A cruise on the River Thames 
  • Windsor Castle 
  • Oxford University 

This trip is a cultural exchange, an educational adventure, and a memory that will last a lifetime. 

Why We Need Your Help 

This opportunity is an extraordinary one, but it comes with significant travel and logistical costs not covered by the band’s annual operating budget. Your donation will help offset student travel expenses, making this dream more accessible for everyone. While students will contribute personally toward the cost, your generosity helps lift the burden and ensure that no one is left behind due to financial constraints.
