With your support, you can assist with the Girl Power STEM camp. <p>Thanks to our TROY Family, we have raised [[Amount Raised]]!</p> Join Troy University in championing the future of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by supporting the Girl Power STEM Camp! This engaging and hands-on learning camp introduces middle school girls from Pike County and surrounding areas to the exciting world of STEM through experiments, scientific design, and mentorship from professional women in STEM fields.   Hosted by the Troy University Chemistry Department, the Girl Power STEM Camp aims to build confidence in these students and help them envision a future in STEM careers. To ensure that every student has access to this opportunity, regardless of their financial background, we are seeking sustainable funding for the following:  <ul><li>Program supplies</li><li>Transportation to an industry site and a day trip to the McWayne Center in Birmingham, AL</li><li>Meals for students </li><li>Other essentials needed to support the program</li></ul>   Projects like this help the chemistry department at Troy University expose area students to a higher-education setting, learn about the STEM field, and foster connections with community partners. Our mission is to honor Mrs. Parks' legacy and that of the boycott by providing a platform for scholarly dialogue, civic engagement, and positive social change. <p>Thanks to everyone, we have raised [[Amount Raised]]!</p> <strong>Since its opening on December 1st, 2000, Troy University's Rosa Parks Museum has been an active memorial to the life of civil rights icon Rosa Parks and the lessons of the Montgomery Bus Boycott that brought racial integration to transportation and international attention to civil rights. Located in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, at the site where Mrs. Parks was arrested, it is the nation's only museum dedicated to Rosa Parks. Our mission is to honor Mrs. Parks' legacy and that of the boycott by providing a platform for scholarly dialogue, civic engagement, and positive social change.</strong> <strong> </strong> <strong>With this campaign, Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum aims to expand our permanent collection to include many of Mrs. Parks’ personal and professional items currently held by the Library of Congress, which will be included in a brand new exhibit, <em>The Life and Legacy of Rosa Parks</em>, that reflects who Mrs. Parks was as an individual and lifelong activist. Please consider investing in the future of Troy RMI! <p>Thanks to our alumni and friends, we have raised [[Amount Raised]]!</p> Friends of Troy RMI, The <strong>Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) Program at Troy University</strong> has experienced significant growth. As <strong>Alabama's only dedicated degree program</strong>, we are not only preparing leaders in the insurance industry, but we're also setting a new standard. We recently updated our catalog to require <strong>ALL</strong> business students to take an introductory course on risk management.   With this growth, we will be relocating to a larger suite on the second floor of John Robert Lewis Hall<strong>.</strong> This area will provide our students with a conference room, study area, and tech-enabled learning spaces to connect with industry professionals. This move reflects our commitment to delivering a top-tier education and creating a space that supports students, faculty, and alumni alike. <em>"I'm excited to continue to support the expansion and growth of our program. The 2025 SGA Executive Committee is kicking off the third annual Senior Class Project
The 2025 SGA Executive Committee is kicking off the third annual Senior Class Project <p>Thanks to our Senior Class, we have raised [[Amount Raised]]!</p> The 2025 SGA Executive Committee is kicking off the third annual Senior Class Project by partnering with the Student Government Association and the Office of Development. This will be an annual initiative by the SGA Executive Board for graduating students to give back to the school and make a lasting impact as a class. The Class of 2025 has chosen to support the Hunger Initiatives fund, which assists students with non-perishable foods and supplies. The fund also supports local children with backpacks filled with supplies to be successful. Support the Troy Cancer Research Core <p>Thanks to our TROY Family, we have raised [[Amount Raised]]!</p> The Troy Cancer Research Core is a diverse cohort of multidisciplinary faculty researchers and students working hard to unravel the complexities of cancer through transformational research. With the support of various granting agencies and many generous donors, the center is taking a leading role in conquering cancers in our time. Our cancer research Core leverages our collaborative relationships with local hospitals and centers and national research-intensive institutions such as The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Tuskegee University, The University of Michigan and John Hopkins University. The Cancer Research Core’s outstanding and distinctive programs in research and community outreach help change the lives of those impacted by cancer. Our Cancer Research core is the only research-focused institute in Pike County. Our research program includes multidisciplinary faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students as stakeholders in every step of the research process. <strong>Vision</strong> To develop and house local and global leaders that have a recognized international impact for uncovering the foundational knowledge needed to advance in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer through conducting cutting edge basic and clinical-translational research. To uncover factors that disproportionately affect ethnically diverse and underserved populations in cancer.  <strong>Mission</strong> To reduce the burden of cancer by discovering and applying novel strategies through collaborative and interdisciplinary research, supporting higher education, training, community outreach. <strong>Goals</strong><ul><li>Improve cancer-related research and education.</li><li>Secure private and public funding to conduct cutting edge research.</li><li>Provide scholarships and fellowships for student driven research. </li><li>Enrich the student experience by cultivating a scholarly research environment.</li><li>Inform the public about cancer and cancer research through community engagement.</li><li>Create a sustainable pipeline for students to obtain a terminal or professional degree in the biomedical sciences centered on cancer.</li><li>Create a health disparity program that helps educate the public on preventative care and reduce the mortality and morbidity of associated diseases through active research.</li></ul> For more information on this project, email <a href="mailto:annualfund@troy.edu">annualfund@troy.edu</a> or call 334-808-6739.
